currently in the data science program (schulich business stream) i swapped over from cs and most Data science courses made specifically for the program have been great so far. the math is a bit heavy but doable if you grind. the program also got coop first year running. got access to the job board recently

can’t complain seems like theyre putting a lot of effort into making it a success.

I'm currently in the Data Science program (Transferred over from CS), it is very new but the courses specific to Data Science have been very good. There is also a good selection of streams that'll give you a chance to go into topics you wouldn't otherwise (Like I'm doing Game Design stuff)
It is new so some courses aren't even available but I have no complaints.

Currently a 2nd-year data science student here. The math is quite intensive; sometimes, you have to take a lot more math than computer science. ex (Calc 3, stats 1-2, etc.). some of these stats courses got hands ngl.

But I'm quite happy with my degree; I'm currently looking for co-ops, and some of the courses really help prep for that. Math 2130 is a good course that gives a lot of hands-on data analysis and applied machine learning models.

As for profs a lot of them are either in the math dept or EECS department, shout out to Kelly, Jairo, Ilir Dema, and sonya allin some really good profs who seem to actually care. but it really comes down to you. and your educational goals. additionally there seems to be a lot of support for the program considering how young it is (it started sept 2023)
