So I did this diploma awhile ago while it was still only two years. There isn't hardly enough practical time or realistic lessons to keep in mind when you're in the workforce. I felt extremely unprepared in the workforce. I knew facts and could regurgitate answers to questions, but when it came to practical skills, it was not a good program. It also doesn't tell you that the work potential is extremely limited here in the province if you want a unionized job that pays well. Unless you're already in the hospital system and have seniority, it's going to be 5-7+ years before you get a permanent full-time job. First year and half you'll barely get any hours so I suggest living at home until you get FT hours, otherwise you'll need a second job.

Similar to the other comment, a large majority of the content is out of date, is aimed at gen Z, (who grew up with phones and tablets instead of computers) and boomers who've never grew up with computers. It'll get you jobs but there are a lot of unnecessary courses that literally teach you nothing. Stuff you would've learned in public school. Also forcibly requiring us to make discussion postings and replying to others is really annoying.

So, overall the program is okay, but there are a lot of filler courses which are unnecessary to those who grew up with computers. A lot of it is quite outdated but the diploma itself will suffice for getting jobs. CNA needs to update it's course modules as it seems to be aimed at individuals who have either never touched a computer or been out of the workforce for an extended period of time (i.e. boomers and gen X) Source, I work for Eastern Health.
