[What technical skills do you learn?]
Practical applications of statistical analysis and data analysis for business use cases. You also learn typical MIS stuff related to data management.
[Is it tough to cope for someone who doesn't have any programming background?]
Anyone can learn programming and there are only a few courses (albeit the most valuable and relevant to today’s data based work) that are taught using R. I think if you like statistics and want a way to gain business domain knowledge BANA is a good degree.
In my case I want to work as a data scientist, I think having this degree along with my existing internship experience as a data scientist has helped me out with securing interviews. Although if I had majored in CS or SWE I would have an even easier time.

[...] I'm passionate about health and well being so for me, the courses are easy. However, the ones I'm not interested in (anything neurological or biomechanical) are harder for me. We have fantastic profs and if you put effort into building a relationship with them it truly enhances the experience. I think you'd enjoy it based on your interests. More than any other faculty for sure.

Hi I’m currently just finished finance with a concentration in financial analysis at mru
[How is the finance major in general?]
1. The workload is a lot in your 3rd and 4th year. Especially if you don’t make a good schedule. There’s some classes I would never Recommend taking in the same semester such as equities/valuation and risk management. Profs are amazing at mru. Definitely some tougher profs such as Cathy and Carlton but they prepare you for the real world of finance!!
[How much is tuition?]
2. Lol no idea
[How has finding a job been since getting your bachelors?]
3. The job market for finance is extremely competitive right now. I don’t care what anyone tells you about school status but it does matter in finance to some degree. For investment banking it’s much easier to get a job from at top business school like UoC but it all comes down to networking nowadays or getting your CFA designation. I have a 3.8 gpa, worked 3 internships and am still struggling to find work, but I’d say it’s more the market rn!!!
[Does getting an MBA increase your chances of employment?]
4. CFA is more valuable than mba. You should get your finance degree first, find an industry job, work for a bit and ask your employer about getting ur MBA. I’d definitely say MBA has lost its prestige as most universities like uoc pump out mba students (more $ for them)
[What should i do to make my time there memorable?]
5. Join lots of clubs!! Start conversations!!
